Apologies for absence were received from Councillors Bower and Squire

Councillor de Whalley was appointed Vice Chair of the Session.

Please indicate if there are any interests which should be declared.  A declaration of an interest should indicate the nature of the interest (if not already declared on the Register of Interests) and the agenda item to which it relates.  If a disclosable pecuniary interest is declared, the Member should withdraw from the room whilst the matter is discussed.

Those declarations apply to all Members present, whether the Member is part of the meeting, attending to speak as a local Member on an item or simply observing the meeting from the public seating area.

Councillors Kemp, Manning, Rust, Bambridge and Nockolds were also present at the Briefing Session.

Those present received an update on the work of Alive West Norfolk and officers present responded to questions.

The item included:

-        Membership Levels

-        Finance and Grants

-        Covid, re-opening, recover and supporting the community.

-        Future plans, the Business Plan and Performance Indicators.

Those present received a presentation on Antisocial Behaviour and the Principal Environmental Health Officer responded to questions.

The update included:

·        Background to Antisocial Behaviour and Enforcement

·        Facts and Figures

·        Case Studies

·        Areas of National Concern

Councillor Squire was not present at the meeting, so this update would be provided at a later date.

This item was deferred.

Any questions should be forwarded to the Democratic Services Officer in advance of the meeting.

Councillor Bubb asked Councillor Kunes about sponsorship for a recycling competition which was being considered by the Single Use Plastics Informal Working Group.  Councillor Kunes agreed to discuss this with Councillor Bubb outside of the briefing session.

Members of the Panel were encouraged to inform the Chair and Democratic Services Officer of any items they would like considered for inclusion on the Work Programme.

To note that the next meeting of the Environment and Community Panel is scheduled to take place on 15^th February 2022 at 4.30pm.
